From Belly to baby....

I recently had a maternity session with my cousin and her husband.  Fast forward a few weeks and they welcomed Miss Layla into the world a few weeks early.  We did her session yesterday which was actually her EDD week.  What a perfect little sweetheart.

She slept so soundly throughout the session and let us move and snuggle her without protest.  Oh, I take that back she didn't want me to mess with posing her hands but other than that she was all good. :)

There's nothing more precious than a new little babe to snuggle.  Congratulations Raylin & Nathan she's perfect!

Raylin & Nathan - Maternity

I was so excited to hear that my cousin and her husband were expecting again.  And even happier when they announced they were expecting a baby girl!  She will join a very loving family with big brother, Nathan & a very proud big sister, Bella! Can't wait to meet her!!

We decided to go to Lake Michigan in Michigan City for her maternity session.  I have never done a beach session before and let's just say I was NOT disappointed.  I have to say it's one of my favorite places to shoot. :-)  It was absolutely beautiful and so is mama to be!  The perfect session.

We were able to capture some really great shots yesterday but more importantly we captured some really great memories!!  Love you both!!!  Hope you enjoyed your day as much as we did.

Now on to a couple special shots I've saved for the blog....

Enjoy!

The sweetest little crocheted boots Miss L will be wearing!

Aww...

One of my favorites from the day!

I wanted to share what sweet guys we have!  We wanted to try a shot with the babies name written in the sand!!  It seemed like such an easy thing to do..lol...it proved harder than we thought.  The waves kept washing it away or the name was to big or to little.  The list goes on and on but these two kept trying to figure out a better way.  The things they do to make us happy! :)  Thanks Nathan & Troy for putting up with us yesterday!!!

A surprise for D-A-D!

So excited to finally be able to share from the B Boys' session!!!  Their mom called me with something particular in mind to surprise their dad (my cousin) for his birthday.  We met up at a local farm that I have loved & admired as I've driven by for over a year now.  I had a blast with these boys.  They were all boy & full of energy. Up for anything.  They sang to me & giggled all throughout the session.  It couldn't have been better!

We even had a couple of surprise visitors in one of the photos I'll have to share, too.  :)

Thanks again, Hilary!  I had a great time catching up.  I hope Dathan had a wonderful birthday.

Look in the barn door at our little visitor!  Sneaky kitty!! :)

A little Bird Watching

One of my favorite things in photography is capturing nature.  Driving home from visiting my brother I noticed these Red-Winged Black Birds along the ditch line.  One of my favorite birds.  I notice them along side the road all the time while driving from here to there.  On this day I was able to stop with my husband and kids and take a few pictures.  The kids were excited to watch them and help spot them.  They would fly off and then come back making things a tad difficult.  There were two males and a female.  After all the moving the vehicle back and forth a few times and shhhshing the kids so they would fly off again I was finally able to get a couple pictures!  I hope to take more time in the NEAR future to capture more shots like these.

Ethan - 10 days old

I loved meeting up with Wendy & her family.  Damon is a sweet little boy full of energy, as most boys are, and ready to play.  His new baby brother Ethan is perfect!  He cuddled and slept so soundly.  A photographer's dream!  Our time was shortened but we managed to capture the cutest little grin among other precious shots!

I want to thank the Stamps family for allowing me into your home and capturing those special memories!

I really hope you enjoy them!

Kameron - Rochester Senior 2012

I met up with Kameron this weekend as well.  Such a great kid!  I'll be meeting him & Brittany for pictures once the weather decides to stay warm.  Our options were limited since it was windy and cold Saturday morning and the ground was soaking wet!  We hope to catch a warmer day soon!!

Here is your mini preview....

This senior session was bittersweet for me because this beautiful Senior is my sweet cousin Brittany.  I've watched her grow from a sweet little girl into a beautiful, smart, & funny young lady!  Without getting to sentimental, I want to wish you the best with your college endeavors!

Introducing Baby K

My very first birth session....

An opportunity I've been waiting for...for quite some time.  My sweet little cousin whom I used to babysit for as a kid was expecting her first child.  I emailed her and offered up my services and she loved the idea.  I was ecstatic to be finally venturing into another side of photography.  Capturing families, babies, and children is something I love to do and being able to record those moments during the beginnings of life are all the more special.

I followed her pregnancy the ups & downs and could relate to oh so many of them.  She emailed me often with questions and updates and with each closing day it got more real!  Finally, the end was near.  She had been in and out of the hospital for all sorts of issues and on Monday I get a phone call, text, and email telling me they had decided to induce her early.  She was set for a Thursday induction but baby K had other ideas.

As the evening progressed she also progressed....at 3:23 on Tuesday morning Kane was welcomed into this world by mom, dad, and both grandmothers.  He was the 1st baby of the New Year too!!  He's perfect!!

Thanks so much for allowing me to go through this with you!  It's so hard to believe that I used to baby sit you as a little girl and now your a momma!!  Time flies!

He's precious, Amber!  Don't blink it goes by in a heartbeat.

Can't wait to get my hands on him!!!!

The halls were calm and empty.

Trying to relax

A small nap before baby arrives.

 Baby K

I really hope you enjoyed the pictures.
