My very first birth session....

An opportunity I've been waiting for...for quite some time. My sweet little cousin whom I used to babysit for as a kid was expecting her first child. I emailed her and offered up my services and she loved the idea. I was ecstatic to be finally venturing into another side of photography. Capturing families, babies, and children is something I love to do and being able to record those moments during the beginnings of life are all the more special.

I followed her pregnancy the ups & downs and could relate to oh so many of them. She emailed me often with questions and updates and with each closing day it got more real! Finally, the end was near. She had been in and out of the hospital for all sorts of issues and on Monday I get a phone call, text, and email telling me they had decided to induce her early. She was set for a Thursday induction but baby K had other ideas.

As the evening progressed she also progressed....at 3:23 on Tuesday morning Kane was welcomed into this world by mom, dad, and both grandmothers. He was the 1st baby of the New Year too!! He's perfect!!

Thanks so much for allowing me to go through this with you! It's so hard to believe that I used to baby sit you as a little girl and now your a momma!! Time flies!

He's precious, Amber! Don't blink it goes by in a heartbeat.

Can't wait to get my hands on him!!!!

Baking cookies....making memories!

My mom came over today to help us start our Christmas baking. I love to bake but I just don't seem to make the time for it anymore.

The kids had fun adding ingredients and rolling the dough balls in sugar to make the Peanut Blossom cookies. One of my favorites. We managed to make chocolate chip cookies along with the others until I ran out of salt of all things. I think I run out of an ingredient every time I start to bake. At least I got two of the cookies made. Next up, Buckeyes!! Yum!

Where do I begin?

I am Co-leader to my daughter's Girl Scout Troop. The leader of the troop and my friend, Mandy contacted me about doing some family photos before the Christmas holiday. I met up with them at Hamstra Garden's at their request. I've done one other shoot there and it's absolutely gorgeous with so many photo opportunities. A photographer's dream!

It was a beautiful day for pictures. The sun wasn't out all day and then just before the session we got this gorgeous golden glow.

I have to say this family was up for fun today! Lots of laughter! I mean LOTS! ;)~ We ventured all over capturing group shots and individuals and then we ended the session with candid moments. As a photographer....candids are by far the best! I love capturing those special moments that aren't created or posed!

Brewer Family

Met up with the Brewer family late this afternoon. It was beautiful all day an about an hour before our session it got grey and dreary out. Avoiding the rain and dealing with the darkness because of the time change we had a gorgeous location to take advantage of...

You were all great to work with I just wish we would have had more daylight! Imagine the pictures we could have gotten then!! Next time for sure! :)

Lilea - 2 months

I spent Saturday morning with Miss Lilea and boy is she a sweetheart. From coos to giggles to blowing bubbles she is the sweetest baby. Grandma had all the cutest props. Her stash is better than mine. lol.

I've never met a baby who loves having her clothes changed. If Lilea fussed we'd move on to the next outfit and in the middle of the change she was all smiles again. :) Then she got tired (of me and my camera) and decided she was done for the day. Who can blame her, it's tough being so cute!

Marsh Brothers - Trains, Tractors, and Football!

I met up with fellow photographer Amanda Marsh and her adorable boys, and her parents yesterday afternoon. The boys are so sweet! Connor was in awe of all the big trains. He couldn't take it all in fast enough! I think his favorite was the train car that army soldiers traveled/slept in. He also showed me what a great football NJ-SP Schools will have in the future! Hut, Hut, Hike! LOVE IT!

Logan is such a good baby! We even got a few smiles...well until it was dinner time! And what a little chunker! TOO CUTE!

Hunter - 2012 Senior

We met up with Hunter and his family while we were in Indy on our little mini-vacation. Sadly, the rain ruined our plans! I was able to get a few indoor shots and we planned on meeting up again real soon for a full session! And next time we're in town we'll have to do dinner!

Justin - Rochester Senior 2012

Ahhh....where do I begin?!? Meeting up with Justin and his family proved to be a good time! We started out making good time and then we got worried we would lose daylight. Although, my favorite time of day is right at dusk! Yummy lighting and it makes for great picture taking! We stayed close to home and had a variety of places to capture those perfect shots.

I can't say what a great kid Justin is...well-mannered, polite, funny, and shy! He loves four-wheeling (and we have pics to prove it), his truck, tractors, and hunting! A country boy at heart!! He was up for anything we threw at him...even the unexpected lecture he got at the end of the evening! And even then he was as polite as ever!

I hope you enjoyed your afternoon because I know we did!! :) Thanks again!!

I met up with Keisha at France Park in Logansport. An absolutely gorgeous location for pictures of any kind! Great location choice! We had waterfalls, beaches, and gorgeous rock cliffs to name a few spots. While hiking all over to get to these places I learned that Keisha will be graduation mid-term due to all her hard work as a student! Congratulations Keisha that's a great accomplishment! You should be very proud of yourself! I hope your choice of college will be all that you hope. Best wishes now and in your future! I'm sure you'll continue to do amazing things!

Matt & Linda - Married! October 15, 2011

On a bright and sunny but WINDY October afternoon, Linda Bauman married her sweetheart Matt Arnett. It was a gorgeous wedding full of family and friends. It was my absolute pleasure to be able to help them capture their momentous day to be remembered for always. It was a day to remember! Your wedding party was an excellent group of friends & family who were all good for LOTS of laughs!

Matt, I hope falling out of the ladies arms wasn't all to painful...and maybe for falling Rhonda can give you a cut of her winnings! lol!! ;)~

Shidler Family

We are having an Indian Summer and what better way to take advantage of this gorgeous fall weather! I met up with the Shidler family yesterday for an afternoon session. We had a great time! FALL-ing in Love....

I was lucky enough to be asked to be a part of Sarah & Justin's wedding day. The wedding took place at Tippecanoe River State Park and they had a gorgeous setting for the ceremony.

The day was gorgeous but as night fell in time for the ceremony it got chilly! :) All in all it was the perfect day for Sarah & Jusin! I wish you two the best!!

Kolasa Kids

Janice recently entered the Summer's End Photo Contest held by Leslie Boyd Photography and tied in second place so I extended the offer to those two photo entrants as well, the race was close!

We met up Friday in North Judson at the train depot. I had a blast! The kids we so curious and it was fun to capture some candid moments while they explored.

Riley will be celebrating his birthday at the end of this month so mom wanted some individual shots. He was willing but only if big sis Carina was right by his side and mom didn't get out of his sight! And he was NOT giving up a smile for this crazy lady with a camera! lol!

Cameron is ALL boy! He was tinkering and exploring all around the yard. Carina is a little model waiting to happen...she's definitely a natural but she was playing shy! What a beauty!

Adam - Senior

I met Adam and his parents on Saturday morning for his senior session! After I found the place...sometimes map quest doesn't know the way. ha!

Adam has a passion for cars and after seeing the cars we used at his session I can see why! They are gorgeous! I also got to meet his loyal dog, one of the best behaved pets I have taken pics of yet. :)

The weather couldn't have been more perfect. We had a great day for pictures. I had a great time. It was a pleasure meeting you and your family! You guys are great!!

Meeting Miss Izzy

My best friends sister (who is like a sister to me as well) just became a mother in July. Her and her husband made a surprise visit to Indiana this weekend and I finally got to meet sweet Izabella! She is such a precious addition to an already loving family. Thanks for the visit today it was so much fun and long overdue! Love ya girl!!!!

She made us work for our pictures, but isn't that what princesses do!? ;) I believe we were able to capture some really great shots. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek and there will be more to come soon.

What can I say...these dresses are comfortable, cute, and affordable! I was just honored to do a product shoot with one of Maria's dresses using my oldest daughter Gabrielle as the model. The shoot was so fun! She had a great time modeling (of course all who know her knows this is her thing) the dress!! She couldn't stop telling me about how comfortable it was and I being a t-shirt and jeans kinda girl knew exactly what she was talking about. These dresses are perfect for back to school!! The last day in April...

The kids had their first baseball game this afternoon. They did well and had a great time. I took my camera to get pictures of them in their cute little uniforms but the younger two kids kept me so busy I forgot I didn't get one shot until it was all over. So, next game is Monday evening I'll have try harder next time.

After their game we went to my husband's parents house and the kids spent the day playing outside. The wind was a bear to contend with today but as long as it was warm they were staying outside. They had a great time. We took a walk around the farm and the kids helped grandpa feed the calves. They enjoy getting to help out with the cows.

Not a cow from their farm but I love the picture. ;)

Jaxon had a blast a week or so ago playing around so mom could take pictures. He climbed all over the tractors and posed here and there. A bit out of character for him but he was loving the attention. The girls were shopping with my parents and he had all of our attention, he was loving it!

And, of course, when we got there today the first thing they all wanted to do was feed the cows. Once we got out there I got a chance to get a few pictures. It's rare but they didn't seem to mind getting their pictures taken today.

It's been awhile! Yesterday I posted about our new baby girl and aside from keeping up with four kids, a husband, and our home I don't know what has kept me from keeping my blog current! ;-) But as the weather tries to get warmer and hopefully drier I hope to be able to keep in touch on here. I, also, hope to make my photography career a bigger focus in my life. So this is just a little note to let you know where I have been and where I hope to be in the near future.

Our new baby girl...

As many of you know by now we have a new addition to our family. A sweet baby girl, Brooklynn Reese. She's been a wonderful addition and she fits in perfectly. I have to admit it's been an adjustment going back to the newborn stage as the youngest is three now. The kids love their new baby sister and we have been fortunate because the jealousy was next to none since she has arrived. We are truly blessed with great children!

Brooklynn is as precious as her pictures portray her but we've had a rough time getting adjusted to the acid reflux. She wants to nurse all day most days and has been put on zantac to help with the spitting up but she still showers me at least twice daily if not more. :)~ I tell people I have a new perfume...Baby Spit up! ;) Ah, the joys of motherhood.

Even with the tummy issues we've been doing well and couldn't ask for a sweeter baby. She completes the puzzle.

A friend of mine from school called me the other day and wanted to get together for pictures. Her and her husband have the cutest and might I add sweetest lil guys ever! They are so well behaved and fun to be around. I met them at their place for pictures around the Christmas tree. Their oldest wanted to show me all his toys and ornaments and the youngest was worried about watching his movie (he reminds me so much of my little girl Charlize). Once we started taking pictures the kids were great! We had to give Little D a candy cane and he was good to go after that! :)

I had a great time and hope to see you again soon! I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Just one more step in the life of a senior. Graduation is just around the corner and a new group of young men and women will move onto the next part of their life's journey. I had the pleasure of meeting one of those young men this past weekend. A very shy guy at first but once he started to loosen up he started getting comical and having fun! I had so much fun meeting up with Chad and his mom Tina. They were really great and I totally appreciate their patience while waiting on their sneak peek!

I really hope you enjoy this preview...I really enjoyed working with you both! And Diesel was great too!! ;)

A mini winter vacation...

I got to meet up with my cousin Rochelle, her husband Dave, and their little bundle of cuteness Kaleb. Our husbands had to work in the big city of Indianapolis so we decided to tag along and shop.

While we were there I got a little mini shoot in with Baby K. I have to say for being 4 months old he was the most patient baby. He was happy and smiley. He didn't cry until it was time to eat. :) I enjoyed him being my little model for the day!! I can't wait to see you all again...we had a blast. Let's not wait so long next time!!

Fall is near....

I had the privledge of meeting one of my favorite families today for a shoot at the pumpkin patch. We had so much trying to capture the feeling of fall. The kids got to model their halloween costumes and play with pumpkins. It was fun for all. I hope you enjoy your sneek peak Shanoa. I had a great time. I traveled to Saginaw, MI for my cousins baby shower and we had planned to do her maternity shoot while I was in town. Although mother nature had other things in store for us and we were rained out! So she came home this week and we finally had a chance for her maternity session. We had so much fun and we didn't have to travel that far (hehe) to get some really gorgeous shots! Little Miss Mint Pageant

I have been slacking when it comes to updating this blog. So today is the day to catch up. Gabrielle was part of the Little Miss Mint back in June. She did so great too!! She was so grown up! Her answers to the judges questions were original and they even suprised me. They asked her if she could go anywhere in the world on vacation where would she go and she said, "Japan." :) They also asked if she could tell Hannah Montana anything what would it be and she responded, "I am your biggest fan." We were so proud of her. All the entrants received a trophy and goody bag at the end of the pageant too. Here are some pictures when she was on the stage.

A firefighters last call...

My husband is a volunteer firefighter. A couple of weeks ago his department lost a brother to a long term illness. I was able to capture some pictures for the family to document the wonderful memorial in his honor. It was truly heartbreaking but touching to witness.

I had the pleasure of being part of the marriage of Julie and George. It was quite a suprise when I got the call from my bff that her little sister (and someone who is like a little sister to me) was getting married! I was so excited to get to be there to witness them take their vows and become husband and wife! Congratulations Julie & George! I love you and best wishes!!!

I had a Senior shoot on Sunday with Jeremy F. We had some great shots planned but since we have had so much rain the river was flooding everywhere and it kept us from some of our planned shots but we found more. :) You'll notice how high the river is in some of the pictures. We were able to get some great shots and I had a great time. Thanks Kathleen and Jeremy for making the day so easy and fun! I had a great time with you and your family.

We have a new addition to our family. Our little princess puppy Annabelle. :) She is the cutest little thing. The kids love her...especially Charlize. She wakes up every morning and says, "aaha beh" hehe!!! It's the cutest thing ever!!! She fits in perfectly!

So yesterday was Easter Sunday..I hope everyone had a wonderful day! My parents and my brother and his kids were coming over for dinner and an egg hunt that afternoon. So before everyone got to the house my husband and I decided to take the kids down to the river to this gorgeous piece of property so I could take their Easter pictures while they were all dressed up in their Sunday best! :) How fun to say the least! It was so hard to capture them all three because they were beyond excited since they had just gotten their baskets and were awaiting the ever famous Egg hunt! I got some really fun shots yesterday! Gabrielle and Jaxon did well but we have Miss Charlize who is always the cut up and can't sit still. She was being a character for sure and you'll see what I mean when you check out the pictures. I couldn't choose just one to share especially if I wanted to show you exactly how our shoot went.

Here is how the shoot started....

So she wanted no part of the basket...so much for trying to do her first by herself so she wouldn't get bored with pictures. lol...

Now onto some more from the shoot....

And then I wanted to get some pictures with the river in the background and a group shot with all three..this is how that went...look closely Charlize is in there..hehe!

I had a newborn shoot this weekend with a lovely little girl and the sweetest little boy! Alexa was just precious and oh so curious! She wanted to look around and see what was going on. The shoot started out at the park but it was a little to chilly for the kiddos so we moved it indoors. Thanks for letting me take the pictures. I hope you enjoy them. This session price includes: 2 -2 hour sessions. Your first session will take place between your 34th and 38th week of pregancy. The second session will take place when the baby is born around 1-2 weeks.

Session Fees ~ $40 due at the time of the shoot. Within 25 miles of Leiters Ford, IN. Up to 2 hours of shoot time. Anything over 2 hours will be $20 an hour. I offer ON LOCATION (no studio available), natural light photography. You choose the location. Unlimited clothing changes and poses. I will have package prices available below and I will also offer specials. If you'd like to make your own package you can do so from the ala carte menu. There is a $45 minimum order.

I was messing around the other day with the ss on my camera and got some really great shots of Gabrielle and one of Charlize who didn't want any part of picture day..hehe. Jaxon wasn't even about to sit still for a picture so I practiced with my little model Gabrielle.

See the tear...she was mad because I wouldn't pick her up while I was taking pictures. :)

Today was gorgeous. I had a photo shoot this afternoon and I was so worried it was going to rain. Thank goodness it didn't. It was 60 degrees and a perfect! I met up with Lyndsee, Sam, and Trey for a family photo session. I had such a good time. Trey was full of energy and so fun! He's a little comedian! He had had enough of me today because he kept telling me he was done having his picture today...lol!! Lyndsee and Sam were great too. I had such a good time today. Happy to meet you and hope to see you again soon!!!

Baby Brenee is here....

Well I am so glad the weather didn't cause our maternity shoot to get postponed because Brenee decided to make her appearance a bit earlier than everyone expected! I got a call from Brenee's grandma that they were headed to the hospital to everyone's suprise since they were expecting her on the 5th of March via c-section. What happy news though...she was born on Feb. 28th!

I went to the hospital to get some shots of this sweet lil baby! I can't wait to get to do her newborn shoot. She is an absolute doll. And boy oh boy does she look like her big brother.

Congratulations to the Stonebraker family! I hope everyone is adjusting well.

I had so much fun today. I had a maternity shoot with Shanoa. You may remember her from her family shoot I did back in Oct. of 2008. It's been awhile....

I know it's been awhile since I have posted any pictures or even a little update. This winter has been rough!! The weather has been really cold and snowy so getting out to take pictures wasn't possible. But hopefully it will warm up soon and that will all change. I do have a maternity shoot scheduled in Feb. and I am so excited.

I went to spend the day with my gram the other day and I got some shots of the kids and a rare shot of all three of them together..lol..those are few and far between. :)

I was trying to get her to come out and take pictures with the other two and she kept going for the cheetos! :)

Those are just a select few from the other day. I only wish I could have gotten them out in the snow for some even more fun! Oh well...there's always next time, right?

I decided to play around today with some settings on my camera. I used my now 1 yr. old as my little model in her Halloween costume and in a tutu she got as a gift for her birthday. I was pretty pleased with how they turned out. Charlize on the other hand was getting tired of me taking her picture. She also didn't like how the tutu didn't let her move! :) She was stuck and mom was taking pictures! :P Oh well.....

I can't believe it. A year has passed. My sweet sweet baby girl is one today!

Time really does fly when you have children. One year ago today I was in labor with my third child. It was a rainy day. It was cold but none of that matter because we were going to meet our daughter that day. It was just days before we would celebrate Thanksgiving that year. Troy and I drove to the hospital where I would be induced at 5:00 a.m. They had me do all kinds of walking to help labor progress before my water broke. Once my water broke I was in the bed for the duration of my labor. It seemed to go pretty fast. Troy and my mom were great moral support and kept me in check when I thought I couldn't do it anymore. My nurses and doctors were worried that I may deliver before my doctor could get back over to the hopspital because of my history. When I was complete with Jaxon he came before the doctor could arrive. The nurses delivered him. Gabrielle was my 1st child and the doctor almost didn't make it back from him office that morning to deliver her. So I tend to have very quick births after I am completely dialated. :) The tough part is getting there.

At 3:58 p.m. they handed me my beautiful baby girl. She was perfect. She looked like her big brother the day he was born. I couldn't believe it after nine months of wondering what she would look like she was here. She was 7lbs. 8oz. and 20 1/4 inches long. My biggest baby yet. The nurses began cleaning her up so her big sister and big brother could finally meet there long awaited sibling. They were in awe. Gabrielle couldn't get enough of her. Jaxon wasn't sure about her.

Fast Forward to today. She's one. Her brother and sister are still chasing her around and begging to hold her. I try to explain that she's almost as big as they are but they don't seem to care and neither does she. They can hold her and carry her around all day and she is happier than ever. She has done so much growing over the last year.

She has 6 teeth. She is saying mom, dad, bye, hi, yes, no and believe it or not she has even said Boobah. My grandmas name is Buelah and Gabrielle couldn't say it when she was little she would say Boobah...so it stuck. All the little ones call her Boobah now. She is taking steps now. She'll take 6 or 7 and she's done. She is not overly excited about walking it's faster to crawl. I also think it's because she is sooo tall. Her center of balance is higher so making it harder for her to get steady. But she is doing it. She's a daddy's girl for sure. She also loves my mom. She actually took a fit for my mom instead of me!! And oh, SHE HAS A TEMPER!! This girl is stubborn and hard headed. It's so fun watching them develop into the person they will be....

I finally got a chance to do a photo shoot with a sweet little baby girl. She was just a doll so tiny and perfect. She was wide awake the whole time and very content. I enjoyed working with her and her family. Hopefully we'll have the chance again soon! She was a pleasure to work with and I would love the chance again.

A November Wedding.....

We went to the wedding of some family friends about a week ago. It was gorgeous. Fall weddings are gorgeous. The bride was beautiful as was the wedding party. I loved all the dresses. My neices were the flower girls and they were just adorable. :) The brides dress was so elegant. Their reception was decorated so elegantly and very very romantic.

I got several pictures of all the kids dressed up and a few others of the bride and her ride. :)

I got to do a senior shoot with my cousins (who is like a sister to me) son, Keith. I used to babysit Keith when he was younger and I can't tell you how much time has flown by....

He's a senior now and I got the pleasure to do his senior pictures. We had a great time. They had some excellent locations to capture the memories! I am SO lucky to get to share these special moments with you both. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this occasion!

My first photo shoot!

I was so excited to finally get the start to my business underway! I had a great family to work with so that made things a little easier on me because I was NERVOUS! :) We had the shoot at a local park near the river and we had a great opportunity to catch some awesome shots. I had no idea what to expect with my first shoot but I must say they made it a pleasant one. I really appreciate the opportunity!

Building a Portfolio

I am so excited to be starting a business doing what I am so passionate about. Like everyone starting something new you need practice so I am in the portfolio building stage right now. I am offering a few free shoots to get my name out there and help me develop some of my newly learned skills. I have scheduled my first shoot for this Friday and I am so excited about it. I have already scheduled a maternity/newborn shoot with the same lady and I have yet to take one picture for them.

Starting my own business

I have been taking pictures for over 10 years now. But the last 4 years have when I have really given it my all to learn all I can about my passion. I am so excited to say I will FINALLY be starting my own business. I can't believe it's finally happening. I have been wanting to do this for several years and I decided at this point in my life I need to just jump in feet first. Wish me luck!! :)
